BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Four members of the Ole Miss softball team were named to the 2001 SEC Academic Honor Roll Tuesday, as announced by SEC Commissioner Roy Kramer.

Seniors Jamie Cummings from Jackson, and Mackenzie Emel from Bellefonte, Pa., made their second straight appearance on the list, while sophomores Julie Baumann from Memphis, and Lindsay Price from Terry, Miss., were first-time honorees.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must: 1) have a 3.0 grade point average for either the past year or for their career, 2) be a sophomore or higher in academic classification, and 3) have 24 semester hours countable toward a degree. The 2001 Honor Roll is based on grades from the 1999-2000 academic calendar.

The Rebels led the SEC in academic all-conference selections in 2000 with 11. In the four-year history of the program, Ole Miss has had 29 selections to the SEC Honor Roll and two NFCA Academic All-America selections.
