Lady Rebels Lose Tough Five-Game Match To UT-Martin

OXFORD,Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball team lost its second five-game match in two days, falling to Tennessee-Martin in the second day of the Magnolia Invitational at the Gillom Sports Center. The Lady Rebels will conclude the tournament against Arkansas State at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
Tennessee-Martin won game one 30-20, behind Lindsey Stock's six kills and .667 hitting percentage. Ole Miss squared the match at 1-1 as senior Jaime Burns posted six kills and six digs to lead the Lady Rebels to a 30-26, win in the second game.
The Skyhawks took game three 30-21, to go ahead 2-1 in the match, but the Lady Rebels would tie it up 2-2 with a huge game four. Ole Miss led 23-11, at one point in the game, before UT-Martin closed to within five (29-24), but the Skyhawks got no closer. In game five, the Skyhawks jumped out to a 11-5 lead and went on to win 15-8, to take the match.
Senior Abby Hollander posted a double-double of 10 kills and 13 digs and also had 3 block assists, while hitting .450 for the match, to lead the Lady Rebels. Burns totaled 26 kills and 14 digs for her third double-double in as many matches. With three kills against Arkansas State, Burns will reach 1,000 for her career.
Tennessee-Martin was led by Stock's 23 kills and 7 total blocks. She hit a team-leading .600 percent. Stephanie Bauer hit .429 with 11 kills and 13 digs in the win.
