Lady Rebels To Compete In ITA Southern Regionals

10/24/2002 | Women's Tennis

All six members of the Ole Miss women's tennis team will travel to Troy, Ala. to compete in the ITA Omni Hotels Southern Regionals, Oct. 25-28. The event will feature players representing schools throughout the South in singles and doubles competition.

Among those representing Ole Miss in singles competition will be senior Mira Radu, who recently reached the semifinals of the ITA All-American Championships.

Representing the Lady Rebels in doubles competition will be the pairs of Virginia Tomatis and Mira Radu, Audra Adams and Sabrina Peppl, and Karem Harboe and Florencia Basile. The singles finalists and doubles champion will earn an automatic berth to the ITA Women's Nationals. With this being the biggest tournament of the season for the Lady Rebels, head coach Mark Beyers is excited about the weekend ahead.

"It's going to be fun to see all the schools in the South competing in the same field," said Beyers. "I'm eager to see how we match up with everyone and see how many wins we can get in the process."
