OXFORD, Miss. - After dropping the first two matches to open Southeastern Conference play last weekend, the Ole Miss (6-7, 0-2 SEC) volleyball team looks to pull even on the season and get back on the right track as it hosts Alabama and Auburn this weekend.

The matches continue a five game home stand for the Lady Rebels, who opened the season with 11 straight matches on the road.

"Anytime you start off conference play with two losses, you have to go back to the drawing board and see what you can find that will work," said head coach Joe Getzin. "We have had outstanding play lately from sophomore Elena Garcia, but we need the whole team to step up and match that intensity to get us back on the right track."

Garcia, who is second on the team in kills, paced the team last weekend with 27 kills on five attack errors and recorded 15 digs in the match against Georgia.. Freshman Rachel Refenes leads the team in kills with 130 on the season. Both players will play a key part in helping the team this weekend.

Alabama comes into town on Friday, boasting an overall record of 10-6, 1-1 in the SEC. The Crimson Tide split the opening weekend matches, dropping one to South Carolina before knocking off Kentucky on the road. Alabama is led by Erin Heffner with 245 kills on the season.

Auburn enters Sunday's matchup with the Rebels with a record of 1-13, 0-2 in the SEC, dropping both of its matches to South Carolina and Kentucky over the weekend. The Tigers are led by Brittney Diaz with 110 kills on the season and Lauren Couch with 381 assists.

Friday's match against Alabama will begin at 6 p.m., while Sunday's match with Auburn will start at 1:30 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Gillom Sports Center on campus. The first 50 people through the door on Sunday will receive a free small pizza from Papa John's.
