Rebel Netters Fall At ITA All-American Championships

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Patrick Chucri of Ole Miss advanced to the Singles prequalifying round of 32 before bowing out of the Icy Hot/ITA Men's All-American Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn. The Rebel senior fell to Romain Jurd in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0 Saturday at Champions Club.
Chucri reached the round of 64 with a first round win over Pete Rose, 6-1, 6-0 and a second round victory over Brenton Coutini, 2-6, 6-0, 6-4. Freshman teammate Karim Alayli won the first set of his second round match with Ivan Lovrak before dropping the match, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Three Rebels still remain in the tournament's overall singles draw. Catalin Gard and Paul Ciorascu are set to compete in the qualifying draw, while senior Alex Hartman is slated for the main draw.
