Play Begins At ITA Women's All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Competition began Saturday at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. In singles prequalifying action, Lady Rebel Virginia Tomatis was defeated in three sets by Kentucky's Jill Buckley, 1-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Despite her first round defeat, Tomatis will continue play as she and her doubles teammate, Mira Radu begin the doubles qualifying draw on Oct. 8. Karem Harboe will represent Ole Miss in the singles qualifying draw on Oct. 8. Along with doubles action, Radu is slated to play in the singles main draw beginning Oct. 10.
