Pacific Palisades, Calif. - Qualifying round action for the ITA Women's All American Championships began at the Riviera Tennis Club Tuesday. The Lady Rebels were represented in the singles draw by junior Karem Harboe and in doubles by the pair of Mira Radu and Virginia Tomatis.

Harboe had little trouble in her first round match, defeating Baylor's Vida Mulec in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. However, in her second round match, she was defeated by eighth-seeded Catherine Lynch of California, 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles, the pair of Radu and Tomatis fell to Middle Tennessee's Manon Kruse and Stacy Varnell, 8-4.

Despite the loss in doubles, Radu will return to action Oct. 10 in the singles main draw.
