ORLANDO, Fla. - The Ole Miss women's golf team returns to action for the spring season Monday in the UCF Invitational hosted by the University of Central Florida.
After a strong fall showing under first year head coach Meghan Bolger, the Lady Rebels hope to continue into the spring with a solid performacne and make a run at the NCAA Regionals.
Ole Miss enters the UCF Invitational with a solid corps of athletes who are all capable of pushing the team to a top finish. Through out the fall a different athlete stepped up in each tournament to pace the team.
The Lady Rebels enter Monday's competition led by junior Kerrie Davis who finished the spring with the best stroke average on the team with a 77.66 average through the four tournaments. Sophomore Teesha Ash pushed the team at the USF/Beacon Woods Invitational where she finished in third and helped the team claim the overall title. Ash posted a 78.16 average for the fall, the second best on the team.
Senior Elizabeth Hoffman and team captain Bernadette Luse have both pushed the team to greater heights throughout the fall and look to continue that trend in the spring. Luse posted a 78.25 average for the fall, while Hoffman posted a 78.41 average. Junior Lori Cate rounds out the squad with her 81.44 average.
The Lady Rebels will compete on Monday in the first round and will complete competition on Tuesday.
