Ole Miss Baseball To Air On The Radio In Memphis

OXFORD, Miss. - Memphis stations WTCK-AM 1210 and WHBQ-AM Sports 56 are scheduled to carry 38 regular-season Ole Miss baseball games during the 2002 season, including all 30 Southeastern Conference games, and the April 3 Mayor's Trophy game versus Mississippi State in Jackson, Miss. WTCK-AM will carry 36 of the 38 contests, with WHBQ airing the March 2 contest against Eastern Illinois and the March 5 game versus Memphis at AutoZone Park.
The broadcasts were made possible through the efforts of the Rebel Club of Memphis and TeleSouth Communications in Jackson, Miss.
"I want to thank Dan Frazier, Lloyd Hetzer and Bill Gates, as well as the Rebel Club of Memphis and TeleSouth Communications for all their work in getting us on the air in Memphis," said second-year Ole Miss Head Coach Mike Bianco. "Memphis is a great recruiting area for us, and it means a lot for potential recruits and their families, as well as the Ole Miss fans in Memphis, to be able to hear us live on the radio."
The first game scheduled to be carried in Memphis is this Sunday's series-finale with Jacksonville State. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m., at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field, with air time at 1:15 p.m.
Air time for all broadcasts will begin 15 minutes prior to first pitch with the Ole Miss pre-game show.
