Women's Tennis Dominates San Diego 7-0

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - ,The Ole Miss women's tennis team improved to 4-0 on the season by dominating the University of San Diego(0-5), 7-0 Friday afternoon at the Newport Beach Racquet Club. The Lady Rebels will face Loyola Marymount Sunday at 2:30 p.m. to conclude their California trip. Ole Miss, ranked No. 34 in the nation, quickly took a 1-0 lead in the match by winning all three doubles matches. Audra Adams and Alesya Ignatieva improved to 4-0 in dual matches at the top spot.
In singles, the Lady Rebels lost only one set in the match on their way to the victory. Mira Radu has now won eight of her last nine matches with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Paola Arrangoiz at No. 1 singles. Karem Harboe downed San Diego's Catherine Heppell 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Florencia Basile dominated Annie Rapp 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 4 spot. Sabrina Peppl cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Anne Seppi at the No. 5 position. Audra Adams, playing in her hometown, beat Kazarian 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
Senior Alesya Ignatieva completed the perfect match by coming back to defeat Tara Livesay 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
