KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Ole Miss softball team provided an offensive showcase against Bowling Green and clawed out a extra-inning affair with Butler in sweeping a pair of contests Saturday at the Rebel Games, an independent tournament at Osceola County Softball Complex.

Freshmen Brooke Turner and DeDe Justice each pounded out three hits and powered back-to-back home runs, their first and seventh respectively, in leading a 9-1 shellacking of BGSU in the early game. Ole Miss (13-8) recorded its second-highest hit total of the season with 14, and five Rebels recording two or more baseknocks.

Ole Miss broke a scoreless game in the third with four runs off five straight hits, including a run-scoring triple by Justice and RBI-doubles by Andrea Brahs and Desiree Layman. Layman notched her team-high fourth and fifth doubles of the season.

Junior Lindsay Price (4-2) limited the Falcons to four hits in picking up her fifth complete game of the year. McKenna Houle (2-4) lasted only two innings in the loss for Bowling Green (7-8).

The second game required eight innings for Ole Miss to slide by Butler, 2-1. Turner scored the game-winner in the top of the eighth off a wild pitch, and in the bottom of the frame, catcher Phyllis Manley picked off a runner and Lindsey Whatley closed the door on the Bulldogs (5-7) from the mound.

The Rebels struck first with Nicole Alger blasting her first collegiate homer in the second inning. The freshman from Tulsa, Okla., batted 4-for-8 with three RBI in the two games.

Jess Stephens singled home Cameo Wrasse for Butler in the fourth to knot the game at 1-1 until the eighth. BU hurler Melissa Benter scattered nine hits and tallied nine strikeouts in the complete-game loss.

Whatley halted a two-game losing skid in claiming her team-best fifth victory. The freshman righthander allowed only six hits over the full eight innings.

Ole Miss continues play at the Rebel Games on Sunday with two more first-time opponents. The Rebels match up with Vermont (0-1) at 8:50 a.m. ET and later face Wisconsin-Green Bay (0-6) at 10:40.
