OXFORD, Miss. - ,Ole Miss head football coach David Cutcliffe appeared to be pleased with the Rebels' first spring practice following a week long hiatus for spring break.
"We did not digress one bit," said Cutcliffe. "Even though the guys had a week off, everyone came in ready to work. Now we are ready to move forward and pick up some momentum heading into this weekend's scrimmage."
The Rebels' first practice since returning to school covered work on both sides of the ball, with the offense going against the defense in several periods. In addition to going over game-type situations, Ole Miss also worked on individual position drills.
"We did some nice things out there today," said Cutcliffe. "I hope that we can continue at this pace for the next few practices in preparation for our scrimmage."
The Rebels have nine practices remaining including the April 6th Grove Bowl. All practices are closed to the public. Kickoff for the Grove Bowl is 6 p.m. at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium/Hollingsworth Field.
