OXFORD, Miss. - Kim Crandall, a former high school All-American from Nebraska, has joined the Ole Miss Volleyball staff as an assistant coach, Lady Rebel head coach Joe Getzin announced Wednesday. Getzin has now completed his staff, as Crandall joins Kris Grunwald, who came on board in March.

Crandall brings a wealth of experience with a successful program, having played at Nebraska, one of the nation's top volleyball programs. She earned four letters as a setter for the Cornhuskers from 1996-99. During her four-year career, Nebraska won three Big 12 titles and advanced to the NCAA Final Four twice (1996, 1998).

"We are excited to bring in someone of Kim's caliber to our staff," Getzin said. "Her primary responsibility will be working with the setters. She will provide valuable experience from her success at Nebraska. Her enthusiasm for the game is contagious. We are looking forward to having her become part of our program."

Off the court, Crandall was an excellent student-athlete, earning Honorable Mention Academic All-Big 12 honors and the Academic Medallion three times. She was also a member of the Dean's List.

Following her playing days at Nebraska, Crandall began her coaching career as a volunteer coach at Westside High School in Omaha, Neb., in the fall of 2000. She took over as Head Varsity Volleyball Coach for the 2001 season.

In addition, Crandall has coached the Nebraska Junior Volleyball Club since 1997 and has had three teams qualify for the Nationals.

Crandall received her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December of 2000 and went on to earn her Nebraska Initial Teaching Certificate in Social Science.
