Tickets On Sale For Men's Tennis NCAA Regional

OXFORD, Miss. - Tickets for the men's tennis 2002 NCAA Championship first and second round matches hosted by Ole Miss Saturday and Sunday are on sale at the ticket office. Fans can purchase tickets for $5 per day for adults and $3 per day for students.

"This is a very exciting weekend for Ole Miss and Oxford with graduation, Arkansas here in baseball and an NCAA Championship," head coach Billy Chadwick said. "There are 16 NCAA regionals played around the country and we feel this may be the strongest. We encourage our fans to come out and support the Rebels in their quest to advance to the Sweet Sixteen."

The 2002 SEC West Champion Rebels will meet the champions of the Ivy League Brown University, at 11 a.m., Saturday followed by Alabama and Middle Tennessee State at 2 p.m. The final will be played at Noon on Sunday. All matches will be held at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center or at the Gillom Sports Center incase of inclement weather.

Ole Miss comes into the NCAA Championships ranked No. 7 in the nation and seeded No. 1 in the regional. The Rebels boast two All-SEC players in junior Alex Hartman and senior Kristofer Stahlberg, plus two of the most consistent performers in the country this year, Catalin Gard and Claes Lindholm.

Alabama, the No. 2 seed in the regional, enters the NCAA Championships ranked No. 18 in the country with a 15-7 record. The Crimson Tide are led by 53rd-ranked Max Belski at the top spot. Middle Tennessee State, a member of the Sunbelt Conference finished the regular season 16-7 overall. They are led by one of the nation's top players, 14th-ranked Daniel Klemetz. Brown University brings a 16-9 record into the tournament. They went 7-0 in the Ivy League to capture their first ever conference title.
