Oxford, Miss. - Ole Miss head football coach David Cutcliffe announced Monday that, due to injuries and medical conditions, offensive lineman German Bello of Pompano Beach, Fla., defensive lineman Justin Blake of Selbyville, Del., defensive back Clifton Collins of Gloster, Miss., and linebacker Johnny Ducking of Greenville, Miss., have ended their playing careers with the Rebels.

The Southeastern Conference has granted medical exemption status to the four players which permits them to continue to receive their athletic scholarship for educational purposes, but they will no longer practice or compete as football players.

"We appreciate the contributions German, Justin, Clifton, and Johnny made to the Ole Miss football program," Cutcliffe said. "I am pleased they will remain in school and work on their degrees."

Bello, Blake, and Collins would have been seniors this season, while Ducking would have been a redshirt sophomore.
