LOUISIANA-MONROE POSTGAME NOTES
* ULM is one of three Sun Belt Conference members meeting SEC opponents on the road today. Middle Tennessee dropped a 39-34 decision to Alabama in Birmingham, Ala., earlier today and New Mexico State plays at South Carolina tonight. The Sun Belt is also busy against the Big 12 Conference today, with North Texas at Texas and Louisiana-Lafayette at Texas A&M.
* Two seniors from Mississippi, guard Zack Sims from Hernando and linebacker Carlos Hughes, from Rosedale served as ULM captains for tonight's game.
* Daniel DaPrato starts at quarterback for the Indians, the first time Andy Chance or Andre Vige had not started at quarterback for ULM since the Middle Tennessee game in 2000. Chance or Vige had started the last 15 games and 41 of the last 44 at QB for ULM.
* DaPrato completes his first pass attempt at ULM to H.J. Adams for 11 yards.
* Bryant Jacobs' 23-yard run on the Indians' first drive tied his career-high for longest rush. He had a 23-yard run at Arkansas State last year and a 23-yard run at Tennessee in 2000.
* Tyler Kuecker's 37-yard field goal gives ULM a 3-0 lead. The only time the Indians scored first last year was at Florida, scoring a first-quarter touchdown for a 6-0 lead over the No. 1 Gators.
* Chris Harris comes up with a first-quarter interception for the Indians, his third career-pick. Later in the game, he recovers a fumble, his second career-recovery.
* ULM does not gain a first down on its last three possessions of the first half.
* Ole Miss holds the Indians to five yards of total offense in the second quarter.
* Tonight's crowd of 58,151 is the eighth-largest all-time to see ULM play football.
* Schule's carry for a first down on the Indians' initial possession of the third quarter is their first first down since the opening quarter.
* In the third quarter, Bryant Jacobs surpasses his career-high for rushing yards in a game. Jacobs' previous high was 80 yards on 19 carries at Arkansas State last year. In the fourth quarter, Jacobs becomes the first ULM player to top 100 yards rushing since Andy Chance did it at Tulsa in the final game of the 1999 season.
* Daniel DaPrato throws two interceptions tonight and Ole Miss scores touchdowns on the subsequent possessions both times.
* The Indians have a couple of negative streaks extended tonight - this is their third straight loss in an opener, ninth consecutive loss in a road opener and 14th straight to a SEC opponent.
* ULM's 118 yards on the ground are its most since the Louisiana-Lafayette game last season, five games ago. The Indians had only two games last year (ULL and North Texas) where they topped tonight's total on the ground.
