Lady Rebel Golf Team Places 12th At Lady Kat Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Senior Bernadette Luse fired a second-round 78 to lead the Lady Rebel effort at the Lady Kat Invitational late Saturday. Sunday's third round was called due to inclement weather, making Saturday's totals official. The tournament was held at the par-72, 6153-yard University Club of Kentucky course.
Ole Miss placed 12th in the two-day tournament, recording a team score of 320-329-649. Tennessee took the team title with a 290-314-604.
Luse was the Lady Rebels' highest finisher in 22nd place with a two-round total of 78-78-156. Freshman Sarah Kate Cousart, who shot a team-best 75 in the first round, fired an 85 in Saturday's round to finish 36th with a 160. Senior Kerrie Davis finished 58th (83-83-166), while sophomore Nikki Hadd was 65th (84-84-168) and Brooke Hixon 71st (86-84-170).
Tennessee's Violeta Retamoza won the individual title with an even par 70-74-144.
The Lady Rebels return to action Sept. 23-24 at the Mason Rudolph Championships in Nashville, Tenn.
