Rebels Rally Past Centenary, 72-60

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Justin Reed scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Mississippi rallied to defeat Centenary 72-60 on Tuesday night.
Aaron Harper added 24 points and sparked the rally for the Rebels (1-1), who outscored Centenary 20-7 in the final six minutes to get the win.
Reed and Harper accounted for 12 points down the stretch to spoil the upset bid by the Gents (1-1).
Ole Miss, trailing 53-52, started its run when Harper completed a 3-point play with 5:57 to play. He finished 8-for-11 from the field.
The Rebels, whose 12-game home court winning streak against non-conference competition was snapped last Friday in its season opener to Arkansas State, struggled again early against Centenary.
Ole Miss was just 10-for-27 from the field in the first half, committed two shot clock violations and Harper drew a technical foul.
The Rebels led only once before the final rally, 11-9, which came at the 13:47 mark in the first half.
Centenary led at halftime 33-27. The Gents' biggest lead was 33-24 with 2:02 left in the half.
The Gents were led by Andrew Wisniewski, who had 21 points, 12 of which came in the first half.
The Rebels finished 23-for-50 from the field.
Centenary was 23-for-57 from the field. Michael Gale added 10 points for the Gents, who were outrebounded 34-32.
