OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's tennis team, ranked No. 40 in this week's national rankings, looks to snap a three-match losing streak this Saturday, as they host 58th-ranked Kansas State at Noon at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center, prior to the men's basketball game against Auburn. Incase of inclement weather, the match will be played at the Gillom Sports Center.

The Lady Rebels (2-5) are looking to get back on the winning side after suffering three consecutive close losses, including last weekend's matches against two Top 25 foes. They lost a 4-3 decision to 19th-ranked South Alabama and then dropped a 4-2 match to 17th-ranked Fresno State.

"We played well in all three of our recent matches," head coach Mark Beyers said. "But, we lost a lot of game points, set points and match points that we have to find a way to win if we are going to be successful. Kansas State has a solid team, and we would like to encourage fans to come out watch some tennis before going to the men's basketball game."

Kansas State won its fourth straight dual match of the season in a 7-0 defeat of Utah last Saturday, to continue its best start since 1989. It marked their second straight shutout of the season. K-State also defeated BYU 4-3, Southwest Missouri State 6-1 and Wichita State 7-0. The Wildcats are led by senior Petra Sedlmajerova, who is 9-5 on the season. She has won six straight.

Ole Miss and Kansas State have played each other each of the last two seasons with the Lady Rebels claiming both matches. The two teams met in Albuquerque, N.M., two years ago, and Ole Miss won 7-0. Last year, the Wildcats visited Oxford, and the Lady Rebels won 5-2.
