OXFORD, Miss. - The 2003 NCAA Division I Women's and Men's Tennis selection announcements will take place on Wednesday on ESPNEWS. The women's announcement will begin at 3:30 p.m. CST followed by the men's announcement at 3:45 CST.

The Rebels (18-4) will be making their 10th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Team Championships, but are hoping to host one of the 16 regionals to be played at various sites across the country. They have hosted a regional three of the last four years. Ole Miss, the 2003 SEC Western Division Champion, advanced to the NCAA "Sweet Sixteen" in 2002.

"We've had an outstanding season, winning the SEC Western Division Championship and finishing the regular season ranked top 10 in the nation," Rebel head coach Billy Chadwick said. "Because of our successful season and our past experience of hosting big events, I feel our chances of hosting our very good."

The Lady Rebels, who finished the regular season with an 8-14 overall record, hope that their strength of schedule will help them earn another trip to the postseason. They have been to the NCAA Championships seven consecutive years. The Lady Rebels played one of the toughest schedules in the country with 12 of their 14 losses coming against teams ranked in the top 30.

"Hopefully our strength of schedule will play a factor in the committee's decision," Lady Rebel head coach Mark Beyers said. "We had several close losses to some top teams that will be in the NCAA Championships and hosting a regional."

The NCAA Regionals will be played May 9-11 at various sites across the country. The women's NCAA Finals takes place May 15-18 in Gainesville, Fla, and the men's final 16 will be held May 17-20 in Athens, Ga.

If you do not get ESPNEWS, the brackets for both the men's and women's championships will be posted on ncaasports.com no later than 5 p.m. CST.
