OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss Athletics Director Pete Boone Statement:

"Contrary to public speculation, we have not received, nor do we expect to receive, a preliminary letter of inquiry from the NCAA.

"With information and misinformation flourishing in today's athletic environment, the real story is how the University and the NCAA are working together. To our knowledge, this is the first time an institution and the NCAA have worked in this manner to assimilate unconfirmed information. We are excited to be a part of this new, innovative process, and hope it will be used as a prototype to gain more accurate information and come to a speedy resolution."
