OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss senior Lindsay Price earned her third straight selection to the Verizon Academic All-District VI softball team on Thursday, having been named to the second team.
Price, a pharmacy major from Terry, Miss., was one of only two players on both the first and second teams with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She has received All-District and SEC Academic Honor Roll accolades all three eligible years.
Price was a finalist for the 2002-03 H. Boyd McWhorter SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year and this year's co-recipient of the Eugenia Conner Memorial Award, which honors the University's outstanding female student-athlete.
The right-handed pitcher just completed her finest season in the Red and Blue, topping the Rebel staff in every statistical category with a 2.67 ERA, 11 wins, 17 complete games and two shutouts. She also ranked top 10 in the SEC in strikeouts and strikeouts-looking.
Price finishes her Rebel career second all-time at Ole Miss in career saves, complete games, innings and strikeouts and is third in wins.
She was a unanimous first team honoree on the Verizon All-District squad a year ago, and a third team choice in 2001. The Verizon Academic teams are voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
