OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss baseball will hold its annual Red-Blue fall intrasquad scrimmage Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field, prior to the Rebels' home football game with Tennessee, scheduled for 8 p.m., at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium/Hollingsworth Field.

Ole Miss is in its final week of fall practice, after starting its fall workouts back on September 20. The Rebels return six position starters and several key pitchers from last year's team that finished 39-21 and served as host to an NCAA Regional for the first time in school history. The NCAA appearance was also Ole Miss' third in four years under head coach Mike Bianco.

Ole Miss also welcomes 11 newcomers to this year's squad.

"With the football game being later in the evening, we hope people will come out and catch a preview of our 2005 squad," Bianco said. "We have a lot of key veterans returning, like juniors Mark Holliman and Stephen Head, plus we have several exciting newcomers that should make an impact on our team this season.

"With the scrimmage being a 2 p.m., our fans can enjoy The Grove, come out to the ball park, and still go back to The Grove before the football game kicks off."

The Rebels are scheduled to start their fifth season under Bianco on February 15 at home against Arkansas State.
