LOS ANGELES - Freshman Nika Koukhartchouk and junior Virginia Tomatis of the Ole Miss women's tennis team lost their second round matches in the prequalifying tournament at the Riviera All-American Championships, Sunday at UCLA.

Tomatis dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Audra Cohen of Northwestern. Cohen, a freshman, was ranked top five in the U.S. Juniors.

Koukhartchouk lost in the second round to the No. 7 seed, Maria Rosenberg of Kansas State, 6-3, 6-4. Koukhartchouk is now 1-1 against Rosenberg, who is ranked No. 105 in the nation. The Lady Rebel defeated Rosenberg in the second round of the Ole Miss Fall Classic last weekend, on her way to the final. Koukhartchouk is 4-2 on the season with her only two losses coming against nationally-ranked opponents.

The tournament is not over for the Lady Rebels, as senior Chloe Carlotti, ranked No. 43 in the nation and sophomore Ilona Somers, ranked No. 81, will compete in the singles qualifying, which begins Tuesday. Carlotti, and Tomatis, who are ranked No. 15 in the nation, will team up in the doubles qualifying.

The tournament moves to the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades Tuesday.

The Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships is the largest collegiate tournament of the season. Over 60 schools from across the country will be sending players to compete during the eight-day tournament, which concludes with the main draw finals next Sunday.
