PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Ole Miss women's tennis senior Chloe Carlotti advanced to the main draw at the Riviera All-American Championships Wednesday with a straight set win over 31st-ranked Carolin Walter of Baylor.

Carlotti, ranked No. 43 in the nation, avenged a loss to Walter last year in the Lady Rebels' dual match against Baylor by taking out the Lady Bear 7-5, 6-3. A two-time All-American, Carlotti will face the No. 5 seed, Alice Barnes of Stanford in the first round of the main draw. Barnes is ranked No. 6 in the current ITA national rankings.

The competition gets much tougher in the main draw, which includes 22 of the top 25 players in the preseason ITA singles rankings.

In doubles qualifying, Carlotti teamed up with Virginia Tomatis to reach the final round, before falling. The Reb duo, ranked No. 15 in the country, defeated Tulane's Maria and Darya Ivanov, 8-4. They lost a tough 8-6 decision to UCLA's Daniela Bercez and Riza Zalamada, ranked No. 17, in the final round

The Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships offer the first national singles and doubles titles of the season, and are followed by the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in November and the season-ending NCAA Championships in May.
