Rifle Team Suffers Setback In Fall Season Finale

LINCOLN, Neb. - Sophomore Jennifer Lorenzen shattered the existing school record for six targets with a 590 in air rifle, but it wasn't enough as Ole Miss wrapped up its fall slate with a 4641-4579 Great America Rifle Conference setback to Nebraska Saturday afternoon.

Junior Megan Sandage and freshman Shannon Wilson led the way in air rifle with 584s, while sophomore Mara Polonsky, junior Natasha Phillips and junior Samantha Leach all fired 573s. Freshman Casey Phillips registered a 568, while sophomore Jessica McClain recorded a 496.

Lorenzen also led the way for the Rebels in smallbore with a 573. Wilson posted a 569, while Sandage managed a 565, C. Phillips a 560, Leach a 554, N. Phillips a 553 and Polonsky a 541.

The Huskers finished the day with a 2323-2248 upper hand in smallbore and 2338-2231 advantage in air rifle.
