JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Isaac Wells' short jump hook with 1:29 left lifted Arkansas State to an 70-68 victory over Ole Miss on Wednesday.

Wells, a sophomore from Jackson, Miss., gave the Indians (3-1) an 69-68 lead with 1:28 left. He had missed a shot less than a minute earlier from nearly the same spot.

Wells had 10 points and five rebounds. Marcus Ardison grabbed the final Indian rebound after the Rebels (2-3) missed nine shots in the final 48.7 seconds. Ardison hit one of two free throws to set the final score.

Ole Miss, which didn't score in the final 2:53, missed its final attempt, a long jumper. The win was the Indians' fourth straight victory over the Rebels.

Off the bench, Jerry Nichols led the Indians with 14 points. J.J. Montgomery added 11, and Dewarick Spencer and Andre King-Holland had 10 each. Kitus Witherspoon scored seven.

For Ole Miss, Londrick Nolen scored 21, Tommie Eddie 18 and Justin Johnson 11. The Rebels led 40-34 at the half.

The Rebels' offense revolved around strong three-point shooting and the inside work of Eddie. Ole Miss hit 11-of-23 3-point shooting for the game. Nolen was 5-of-7 on 3-pointers.

Ole Miss' largest lead in the second half was 59-52 with 8:15 left. ASU did not regain the lead until Wells' basket.
