No Announcement On Ole Miss Football Search Expected This Week

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss Athletics Director Pete Boone said Thursday that he doesn't anticipate any type of announcement concerning the search to fill the current head football coaching vacancy at the University of Mississippi until next week.
"We are continuing to work through the details of this process, which require a lot of time and diligence," Boone said. "We are pleased with the interest in our program and comfortable with our progress. I would hope that we will be in a position to reach a decision by early to mid next week. Once we have anything to report, we will then inform the public through normal media outlets."
Contrary to almost daily newspaper, electronic media, and internet reports, athletics officials at Ole Miss confirmed that no press conference concerning the head coaching search has ever been scheduled this week.
Boone and Chancellor Robert Khayat have been busy with the search since David Cutcliffe was dismissed December 1 after six seasons at the helm.
