OXFORD, Miss. -- - The Ole Miss women's tennis team, off to its best start (6-0) since 1999, jumped up 22 spots to No. 31 in the latest ITA National Rankings released Tuesday after posting two recent wins over teams ranked above them.

Stanford, who won this past weekend's USTA/ITA National Team Indoor, is No. 1 followed by Florida, Georgia and California. The bottom half of the top 10 includes Washington, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, UCLA and North Carolina.

The Lady Rebels are coming off an impressive 5-2 win over then 18th-ranked South Alabama last Saturday. The team dominated in doubles play and then posted singles victories at Nos. 1, 2, 5 and 6 to knock off the Jaguars.

Ole Miss is led by Junior All-American Chloe Carlotti, who sports a 5-1 record this spring at No. 1 singles and has teamed with sophomore Virginia Tomatis for a 6-0 record at No. 1 doubles. Senior Florencia Basile remained undefeated (6-0) in dual matches this spring with her win on Saturday. She has won six in a row and seven of her last eight dating back to the fall. Freshman Emily Ladyman continues to impress, having won eight in a row dating back to the fall.

The Lady Rebels return to the courts Saturday at 35th-ranked Baylor. The match is slated to begin at Noon at the Baylor Tennis Center.
