TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Juniors Antisha Anderson and Brandie Plyler and sophomore Rachel Ellison each posted first-place finishes to lead Ole Miss at the Alabama Relays over the weekend. Anderson scored 4.934 points to win the heptathlon, while Plyler cleared 11-5.75 for top honors in the pole vault. Ellison clocked in at 4:38.28 to win the 1,500 meters.

"This was a good start to the outdoor season," said Ole Miss head coach Joe Walker. "We got a chance to let a lot of our athletes compete and get their feet wet. I was pleased with our results, considering it was the first meet of the outdoor season."

Anderson was followed by fellow junior, LaToya McBride in the heptathlon, as McBride placed third with her point total of 4.696. Junior Octavia Carter had a strong showing as she placed second in the high jump with her leap of 5-4.25. Carter also placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with her time of 14.07.

Freshman Amber Bledsoe earned an NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 19-8.25 in the long jump, which was good for fourth place. In addition to Ellison's win in the 1,500 meters, she also placed third in the 800 meters with her time of 2:12.92, while Plyler also placed second in the Invitational pole vault with her mark of 11-5.75.

The Rebels were led at the Alabama Relays by a trio of fifth-place finishers. Junior Shantel Glass placed fifth in the long jump with his mark of 24-1.5. Junior Caleb Hammons finished fifth in the 10,000 meters with his time of 33:46.82, while sophomore Mark Gregory finished fifth in the 400 meters with his time of 47.97.
