BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Junior All-American Chloe Carlotti and sophomore Virginia Tomatis were named to the 2004 All-SEC second team in doubles as the conference postseason awards were announced Wednesday night at the SEC Tournament banquet in Nashville, Tenn.

Carlotti and Tomatis have teamed up to post a 14-5 record at No. 1 doubles, including an 8-3 record in the SEC. Their only three losses in the SEC came against three teams that made the All-SEC team as well. The duo, ranked No. 27 in the nation, has won six of their last seven matches heading into the SEC Tournament. They are hoping to earn a bid to the NCAA Doubles Championships.

"We are extremely excited for Chloe and Vicki," head coach Mark Beyers said. "The SEC is recognized as the top league in the country. When you make the All-SEC team, you've had a pretty good year. To go 8-3 at the No.1 position against some of the best team's in the country, speaks to their excellent play this season."

The Lady Rebels, who are seeded No. 9 in the 2004 SEC Women's Tennis Championship, will take the courts Thursday morning at 9:45 a.m. against the No. 8 seed, South Carolina, in the first round of the tournament. The winner will take on the No. 1 seed, Florida, Friday.
