OXFORD, Miss. - Chloe Carlotti and Virginia Tomatis, members of the Ole Miss women's tennis team, are preparing for the NCAA Individual Championships, which begin Monday in Athens, Ga., at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Carlotti, a two-time All-American, is making her third appearance in the singles and doubles competition, while Tomatis will be going for the first time in doubles. Carlotti, ranked No. 63 in the nation, posted a 13-12 overall record and went 12-9 at No. 1 singles in her first season in the SEC.

In doubles, Carlotti and Tomatis, ranked No. 34, posted a 14-6 record at No. 1 singles, including an 8-3 mark in the SEC to earn All-SEC honors. Five of their six losses have come against teams that qualified for the NCAA Doubles Championships.

"To make the NCAAs is a great honor for Chloe and Vicki," head coach Mark Beyers said. "There are so many great players in college tennis, so it is an accomplishment for them to be among such an exclusive group. They worked hard to earn this, and have been practicing a lot the past two weeks. Hopefully we can go to Athens and make some noise in the tournament."

This marks the 16th year for the Lady Rebels to have a representative in the NCAA Individual Championships and the 15th year in a row. Current volunteer coach Mira Radu advanced to the quarterfinals in singles last year on her way to earning All-America honors for the second year in a row.

The draws for both the singles and doubles will be released Sunday. To follow all the action of Carlotti and Tomatis during the championships, go to www.olemisssports.com.
