OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's tennis team's season came to an end Wednesday, as they were not among the 64 teams selected to the NCAA Championships, which began May 14 with regionals at various sites across the country.

"I am speechless," head coach Mark Beyers said. "Some things you understand, but this is one I don't. It's obviously extremely disappointing to have the season come to an end. I am proud of the girls and what they did this year. They worked hard. I felt in my heart that we would get in even more than last year."

The Lady Rebels finish the season at 12-11 overall with eight of their losses coming against teams ranked in the top 25. Three teams ranked below them got in -- Tulsa, Wisconsin and South Alabama. Ole Miss, ranked No. 45 in the nation, defeated South Alabama 5-2 in the regular season. Arizona State, a team ranked right above the Lady Rebels, got in with a 1-11 record in the Pac-10.
