OXFORD, Miss. - The preseason practice schedule continued Tuesday afternoon as the Ole Miss football team worked out for two hours at the Ole Miss practice field. The Rebels will hold their third-and-final preseason scrimmage Wednesday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The intersquad workout, which is slated for 3:45 p.m., will be closed to the public.
"I thought we had a very spirited effort today," Ole Miss head coach David Cutcliffe said after Tuesday's practice. "We did a lot of Memphis work on both sides of the ball. I thought all of the young men competed hard and showed a lot of energy."
Cutcliffe said Wednesday's focus will, once again, be on the season-opening opponent.
"We will work all three phases of the game (offense, defense and special teams) tomorrow," he added. "We will focus on what we expect to see from Memphis. The coaching staff will be looking for solid execution. We are less than two weeks away from the season opener and we need to be working hard each and every day in practice."
The Rebels will wrap up week three of the preseason with practices Thursday and Friday at 3:45 p.m. before a Saturday morning workout at 10 a.m.
