OXFORD, Miss. - Six dual-matches and five regular-season invitationals highlight the 2004-05 Ole Miss rifle schedule, which was announced Tuesday by ninth-year head coach Valerie Boothe.
The Lady Rebels, who will be competing at the brand new Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center, are also slated to host the Great American Rifle Conference Championships, Feb. 25-27.
"The league championships will undoubtedly be the highlight of our season," Boothe said. "It will be a terrific chance to show off our new facility. We really want to host a first-class event and are looking forward to that opportunity."
The campaign kicks off with the Ole Miss Invitational, which runs from Sept. 24-26 and Oct. 1-3. The squad will also entertain Xavier (Oct. 9), Kentucky (Oct. 23) and Army (Jan. 15) at the new rifle range.
"We have had a very challenging schedule every year since joining the GARC in 2001-02 and this season will be no exception," Boothe added. "I think we will be a much-improved team and look forward to being competitive with everyone on this year's schedule."
