Junior DL Chris Herring saw his first action in an Ole Miss uniform since 2002. He appeared in nine games as a true freshman at Ole Miss in 2002, before transferring to Northwest C.C. for the 2003 season.

DEFENSIVE NOTES

  • Junior SS Kelvin Robinson recorded a career-high 10 tackles (seven solo) this evening, including 2.0 TFLs (-3 yards).
  • Sophomore DB Trumaine McBride recorded his first career interception in the first quarter ... McBride also recorded a career-high five stops (three solo) and two pass deflections.
  • Ole Miss did not record a sack tonight to snap a streak of 29 consecutive games in which the Rebel defense recorded at least one QB sack.

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES

  • Senior PK Jonathan Nichols made his lone PAT attempt of the evening to extend his school-record streak to 99 consecutive PATs made. The 99 consecutive PATs made is also the longest active streak in the nation.
  • Senior P Cody Ridgeway's 10 punts was one shy of his career high of 11 set against Florida in 2002. His 457 punting yards was also 46 yards shy of his career high of 503 set against the Gators in 2002.
