Lady Rebel Basketball To Host Regional Rival Memphis Monday

Ole Miss will look to open 2005 with their sixth straight win when they play host to Memphis on Monday, Jan. 3. Game time is slated for 7 p.m., in Tad Smith Coliseum.
Senior Elizabeth Cansdale scored 20 points to lead Ole Miss to the title of the Surf-N-Slam Tournament in San Diego, Calif., in the Lady Rebels' last outing. Cansdale set a new single game tournament record for three-point baskets with six in the 81-50 win over Vermont.
Sophomore Armintie Price was named tourney MVP and senior Carletta Brown joined Price on the All-Tournament team.
Memphis enters Monday's showdown with a 7-5 mark. The Tigers last to Nebraska, 82-50, in their last outing. Memphis opened the season with four straight wins before going 3-5 over their last eight games. The Tigers are led by Victoria Crawford with 14.1 points per game and Jennifer Sullivan adds 12.7. Raven Rogers leads the Tigers on the boards with 8.2 per game, while Crawford also gets 5.1 caroms per contest. Memphis head coach Blair Savage is 7-5 in her first season as the head coach of the Tigers. Her overall coaching record is the same.
