REBELS CONCLUDE COMPETITION AT RAZORBACK INVITATIONAL

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Ole Miss men's and women's track and field teams concluded the second day of competition Saturday afternoon at the Razorback Invitational held at the Randall Tyson Track Center.
Senior Antwon Hicks led the rebel men once again winning the 60 meter hurdle race in a time of 7.76. Following Hicks in the 60 meter hurdles was freshman teammate John Yarbrough finishing fourth with a time of 8.15. Also competing well for the Rebel men were senior Brandon Atkinson who leaped to a second place finish in the triple jump, jumping 50-11.5 and senior Chris Lawson who finished fifth in the 200 meter race and sixth in the 60 meters in a time of 6.93. The Rebel 4x400 meter relay team finished in fourth place in a time of 3:13.43.
On the women's side, junior Marquita Aldridge, who took home first place in the long jump on Friday, finished in fifth place in the 60 meters. Also taking home a fifth place finish was senior Octavia Carter in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.60. Other top ten finishes were, senior Brandie Plyler finishing sixth in the pole vault, topping out at 11-7.75, finishing in seventh place were freshmen Kenyata Coleman and Sirdonea Davis in the 200 meters and 400 meters respectively. For the distance team, sophomore Shannon Chandler finished in eighth place in the 5000 meters with a personal best time of 18:05.27.
The Ole Miss men and women will be back in action on Feb. 4-5 at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
