Game Notes

Ole Miss will look for their third-straight SEC win when they play host to in-state rival Mississippi State on Thursday evening. Game time is slated for 7 p.m., in Tad Smith Coliseum.

The Lady Rebels are 13-5, 3-2 under the direction of second-year head coach Carol Ross. Ross, who played at Ole Miss from 1979-82, earned SEC Co-Coach of the Year honors in 2004 after guiding Ole Miss back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in eight seasons.

Ole Miss is fresh off its first SEC road win as they defeated Florida, 82-70 on Sunday in Gainesville. Senior Carletta Brown posted a season-high 22 points in the win and sophomore Ashley Awkward came off-the-bench to score 17 points in the final 16 minutes of the game.

MSU enters Thursday's contest with a 14-4 overall mark, including a 3-2 record in SEC play. The Lady Bulldogs fell at home to Georgia on Sunday, 67-57, and defeated Kentucky, 72-59, on Thursday.

MSU is led by All-America candidate Tan White with 22.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. White also gets 3.1 steals and 3.5 assists per game. Senior guard Tiania Burns is also in double-figures with 11.1 points per game.

Mississippi State head coach Sharon Fanning is 165-117 in her 10th year with the Lady Bulldogs. Fanning owns a 490-343 overall coaching record in her 29th year in the business.
