BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southeastern Conference unveiled its second annual women's basketball preseason All-SEC first and second teams Wednesday, to tip-off another great season of SEC women's basketball.

Junior guard Armintie Price was named to the coaches' preseason All-SEC first team on Wednesday.

Ole Miss junior Armintie Price earned Preseason First Team honors for the second-consecutive season after guiding the Lady Rebels to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. Price led Ole Miss in scoring (16.7), rebounding (10.3), steals (3.2) and field goal percentage (.536) during her sophomore campaign. She became the first guard in SEC history to lead the conference in rebounding and also rewrote the SEC history books by becoming the first player to lead the league in both rebounding and steals in one season.

Price is a preseason Wooden Award Candidate, the first in Ole Miss history. A Blue Mountain, Miss., native, she was named the 2005 SEC Defensive Player of the Year and All-SEC First Team honors following last season. She was named the 2004 SEC Freshman of the Year, as well as All-SEC second team honors in 2003-04.

"Nothing surprises me when it comes to Armintie Price," said Ole Miss head coach Carol Ross. "She is an amazing woman who happens to be an amazing basketball player. Being named to the preseason All SEC first team is yet another great honor for her, but certainly not a surprise.

"Armintie continues to be recognized as one of the elite basketball players not only in our league but also throughout the country. She is such a tremendous representative for Ole Miss women's basketball. I couldn't be prouder of her and her accomplishments. It's always gratifying to see great things happen to great people like Armintie Price."

Georgia led all schools with four selections. The preseason All-SEC first and second teams consist of a minimum of eight players on each squad, voted on by the SEC Head Women's Basketball Coaches. No ties were broken and no predicted order of finish was made.
