  • Today's game marked the first meeting between the Rebels and Bulldogs.
  • Ole Miss is 34-7 versus non-SEC teams dating back to a 38-0 win over Tulane on Nov. 12, 1994 ... The Rebels are 25-3 against non-conference opponents in Oxford during that span.

OFFENSIVE NOTES

  • Ole Miss' 20-point margin of victory was its largest since the 31-0 win at Mississippi State in 2003.
  • Redshirt freshman RB Mico McSwain recorded his second 100-yard rushing game with a 105 ... With 391 rushing yards on the season, McSwain trails Deuce McAllister (402 yards in 1997) by 11 for second on the Rebel all-time freshman rushing list ... The Ole Miss freshman rushing record is held by Joe Gunn with 547 yards in 1998.
  • Senior QB Micheal Spurlock posted a career-high for completions, finishing 20-of-29 for 254 yards ... Spurlock also produced two TDs (one rushing, one passing) for the second time in his career ... The last time was the 2003 Arkansas State game, when he ran and passed for scores.
  • Senior QB Micheal Spurlock and senior WR Mike Espy hooked up for a TD for the second time in three games.
  • Junior TE Keith Houston hauled in his first career reception with the 32-yard grab in the third quarter ... Houston was the sixth different receiver to catch a pass today.
  • Senior WR Larry Kendrick turned in career highs of five catches for 48 yards.
  • Junior RB Jamal Pittman managed career highs of three receptions for 30 yards.
  • The Rebels scored first for the fourth time in this season's five games.
  • For the second straight game, Ole Miss surrendered an interception return for a TD.

DEFENSIVE NOTES

  • The Rebels limited the Bulldogs to 81 yards of total offense, the least allowed by the Rebels since holding Vanderbilt to 51 total yards in 1993.
  • The Ole Miss defense held The Citadel to four first downs on the afternoon ... The last time an Ole Miss defense held a team to less than 10 first downs was against Mississippi State in 2004, when they held the Bulldogs to only six.
  • The Rebels did not allow a first down in the second half.
  • With senior DB Travis Johnson's fumble recovery and score in the third quarter, Ole Miss returned a fumble for a touchdown for the first time since Al Rice ran back a fumble 37 yards for a TD in the 1999 South Carolina game ... Johnson scored his third career TD, with the other two coming off interception returns during the 2003 season ... Johnson also recorded his 10th career interception and first of the season.
  • Junior LB Patrick Willis registered 14 tackles on the afternoon...Willis also forced a fumble for the second time this year.
  • The SEC leader in tackles per game, Willis raised his average to 12.0 tackles per game, which would tie him for ninth in the latest NCAA Division 1-A individual rankings.

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES

  • Freshman P Rob Park handled punting duties for the first time in his career ... Park punted for an average of 40.8 in his five attempts.
  • For the second straight week, junior K-P Will Moseley connected on a eld goal of better than 40 yards, hitting from 44 yards out in the first quarter ... Moseley was good on a season-long 50-yarder at Tennessee.
  • Redshirt freshman K Robert Bass converted his first career field goal with a 23-yarder in the fourth quarter.
