"We were very dominant on the mound today. First, Anthony Cupps goes out there and gives six strong innings, followed by Matt Maloney and then Will Kline. I thought it was a very good effort all-around in the opener, to score 10 runs and then to also shutout the other team."
On the today's crowd:
"Obviously, we're very proud of the crowd we had, especially on a midweek day to open the season. Last year, we ranked eighth in the nation in total attendance, and five years ago when we got here, it wasn't even close to what it is like now when you come to this stadium."
Anthony Cupps (JR., RHP)
"I felt good today coming out of the bullpen. They only had one left-handed bat in the line-up, so Iwas able to get ahead with my fastball and then use my slider. I've been working on my slider and I was able to use it quite a bit today. I probably threw two sliders for every curveball."
Brian Pettway (JR., LF)
"I felt good out there today and it was good to get back out there for the first time this season. I was real comfortable at the plate, and I had been feeling really good during spring drills heading into the opener."
