OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss football team went through its third practice of the spring season on Friday afternoon. The Rebels worked out in full pads for the first time of the three sessions and got mixed reviews from head coach Ed Orgeron.

"We lost a little bit of our technique," said Orgeron. "I think that is pretty common the first time you put on pads and I expected it. We got in some solid work and they really picked it up the last few periods. Overall, I was pleased with what we got out of today's practice."

The Rebels, who took to the practice fields adjacent to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium for the first time this spring, worked on individual position skills for the first few periods of practice. After some time working on special teams, the team broke up into small groups for some drills. Midway through practice, the Rebels worked on 7-on-7 skills, before finishing practice with some 11-on-11 work.

Ole Miss will return to the practice field for another spring session on Saturday. The Rebels will spend the first half of the session practicing on position drills, with the second half of the session designated for scrimmage work, something Orgeron is looking forward to watching.

"We are going to let them go at it tomorrow," said Orgeron. "It will give us a chance to see where we are in several areas. I am hoping to see some improvement from today's practice session."

After Saturday's practice session, Ole Miss will take next week off for spring break, before resuming spring practice. They will have 11 practice sessions remaining upon returning from their week-long break, including the annual Red-Blue Grove Bowl scheduled for Saturday, April 9.
