Lady Rebel Netters Set For NCAA Individual Championships

ATHENS, Ga. - Senior Chloe Carlotti and junior Virginia Tomatis are set to begin competing in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships Monday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Carlotti, a two-time All-American, will face Mihaela Moldovan (9-16) of Florida State in the first round Monday at 10 a.m. Making her fourth consecutive NCAA appearance in singles and doubles, Carlotti will also team up with Tomatis in the doubles.

In singles, Carlotti owns a 22-12 overall record and went 15-8 at No. 1 singles. At 97-43 for her career, Carlotti needs three wins to become the fifth Lady Rebel to record 100 career victories.

In her final season, Carlotti led the Lady Rebels to their first ever SEC Western Division Championship and a return to the NCAA Team Championships for the first time since the 2002 season.

Carlotti and Tomatis own a 17-5 overall record and went 8-3 in the nation's toughest conference (SEC) to earn All-SEC second team honors for the second straight year. They are making their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Doubles Championship. The All-SEC duo will face Kendall Cline and Aniela Mojzis(5-8), of North Carolina in the first round.
