ATHENS, Ga. - Ole Miss women's tennis senior Chloe Carlotti bowed out of the NCAA Singles Championships in the third round, falling to the No. 5 seed, Jennifer Magley of Florida in three sets.
Carlotti led 5-0 in the first set, before Magley would come back to make it 5-4. Chloe held to win it 6-4. Magley claimed the second set 6-3 to force a decisive frame. Carlotti jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the third set, before seeing Magley rally to claim the set 7-5 and move onto the quarterfinals.
A two-time All-SEC honoree, Carlotti finished her career at Ole Miss by earning All-America honors for the third time and becoming a multiple-school All-American. She ended this year with a 24-13 record and fell one match shy of reaching 100 for her career, finishing at 99-45.
With Carlotti's loss, the season officially ends for the Lady Rebels, who enjoyed a fine campaign in Beyers' fourth season at the helm. Ole Miss won the SEC Western Division Championship with the most conference wins (five) since 2000 and made it back to the NCAA Team Championships for the first time since 2002. Carlotti became the seventh Ole Miss women's tennis All-American, and the second under Beyers.
