OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss baseball team received the No. 5 national seed in the 64-team NCAA Baseball Tournament, as announced by the NCAA Selection Committee in a live broadcast on ESPN Monday morning.

The regional fields were also set, as the host Rebels (44-18) will be the No. 1 regional seed, with No. 2 seed Southern Miss (40-18), No. 3 seed Oklahoma (33-24) and No. 4 seed Maine (34-17) joining Ole Miss in Oxford for the double-elimination regional.

On Friday, Ole Miss will face the Maine Black Bears at 7 p.m. Central, while Southern Miss and Oklahoma take on each other in the first game at 3 p.m. Central.

The winner between Ole Miss and Maine will face the Eagle-Sooner winner on Saturday at 5 p.m., while the first-game losers will square off at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The Rebels are playing in their 11th NCAA Tournament, and hosting a regional for the second straight year. Because they are a top-eight national seed, should the Rebels win the Oxford Regional, they will also host a super regional.

Head coach Mike Bianco's Rebels are led by All-Americans Brian Pettway and Stephen Head. Pettway, a junior outfielder, is the SEC's top hitter, hitting .400 with a team-high 19 home runs and has 63 RBI. Head, a junior first baseman, is hitting .310 with 18 homers and a team-best 64 RBI.

Fans wishing to purchase tickets to this week's NCAA Baseball Tournament Oxford Regional may do so beginning Tuesday morning at 8. Tickets for the Oxford Regional cost $50 each and are good for all games to be played this weekend at Oxford-University Stadium. All $50 books are for reserved seating.

Persons wishing to order tickets should come by the Athletics Ticket Office in the Tad Smith Coliseum or call 888-732-8587 or 662-915-7167.
