OXFORD, Miss. - Caitlin Keefe, a 6-5 middle blocker from Milwaukee, Wisc., has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at the University of Mississippi beginning in the 2005 academic season, Ole Miss head coach Joe Getzin announced on Wednesday.

Keefe, a two-year letter winner under Andra Gremer at Riverside University High School, comes to the Rebels after helping lead her squad to back-to-back City Conference Championships in 2003 and 2004.

"We're very excited about having a player like Caitlin join our program," Getzin said. "Caitlin will add size to our front line and brings a solid presence to the court. As she grows and works her way into the program, we look forward to what she can bring to our lineup on the floor."

An All-Conference first team selection in her senior season, Keefe was also named as an Honorable Mention selection to the All-Area team by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Keefe started 98 games her senior season as she posted 30 block solos in conference matches and led the team in hitting kills with 73. She also led the squad in hitting percentage, hitting at an .880 clip.

In addition to her high school volleyball, Keefe also competed with the West Allis Lightning and the Milwaukee Sting volleyball clubs.

She also lettered two years in track and field for Riverside University High School, claiming the 2004 City Conference Championship in the discus.

Keefe also maintained academic success during her high school career while competing in two sports as she posted a 3.7 GPA.
