OXFORD, Miss. - Ed Orgeron, head football coach at the University of Mississippi, headlines the Cotton Counties Ole Miss Club meeting July 25 in Greenwood.
The club meets at the Cannon Chevrolet/Cadillac Showroom. A social hour begins at 6:30 p.m., with the program following at 7:30. Tickets are $15 per person, and attire is casual.
The meeting, which includes hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar, also features the Ole Miss Alumni Association's 2005 video. Ole Miss Athletics Director Pete Boone is also set to attend.
Orgeron, who took the reins of the Ole Miss football program after serving the previous seven seasons as defensive line coach at the University of Southern California, played a key role in Pete Carroll's Trojans winning national championships in 2003 and 2004. He joined the USC staff in January 1998, took on the added responsibility of recruiting coordinator in 2001 and was named assistant head coach in 2003.
Boone, a former Rebel center under legendary coach John Vaught, is in his second tenure as athletics director at Ole Miss, a period which has seen the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics grow from a $10 million budget to more than $30 million annually. Boone also has directed more than $60 million in improvements to athletics facilities.
