OXFORD, Miss. - The first edition of "Reb Talk with Ed Orgeron" will take place Thursday from 7-8 p.m. CT, at the University Club just north of the Oxford Square and will be aired on Ole Miss radio affiliates across the region as well as OleMissSports.tv.

The weekly broadcast of Reb Talk will run at the same time each Thursday throughout the season. Orgeron will offer his thoughts on the Rebels' upcoming matchup and will field questions from callers and fans in the University Club crowd. Doors for the free event will open at 4 p.m., and a $15 buffet will be offered on the atrium level and a $10 buffet on the rooftop.

For the inaugural show, the Ole Miss cheerleaders and members of the "Pride of the South" marching band will be on hand for a 6:30 pep rally prior to the broadcast.

Returning as host for Reb Talk is David Kellum, who is starting his 17th season as the "Voice of the Rebels". An Oxford native, Kellum has been associated with Ole Miss broadcasts for 27 years and has been named the Mississippi Sportscaster of the Year four of the last seven years.

Orgeron is entering his debut season with the Rebels, having been hired as the University of Mississippi's 35th head football coach on December 16, 2004. Prior to coming to Ole Miss, Orgeron served the previous seven seasons as the defensive line coach at Southern California and played a key role in Pete Carroll's Trojans winning back-to-back national championships in 2003 and 2004.

The Rebels kick off the Orgeron era on Sept. 5 with a Labor Day encounter at Memphis in the Liberty Bowl. The game is set for 3:30 p.m. CT and will be televised by ESPN. The Ole Miss Radio Network broadcast will begin its newly extended pre-game show 90 minutes prior to kickoff at 2 p.m.
