Rebel Netters Conclude Play At SEC Indoor

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Ole Miss men's tennis team, ranked No. 6 in the nation, concluded play at the SEC Indoor Championships Sunday, as senior Juan Pablo Di Cesare lost to LSU's Ken Skupski, 6-2, 6-2, in the quarterfinals of singles.

Ole Miss had four players advance to the second round of singles, and three reached the third round, with Di Cesare advancing to the final eight. Newcomer Robbye Poole had a successful debut for the Rebels, going 2-1 at the tournament.

In doubles, the team of Jakob Klaeson and Bram ten Berge made it to the quarterfinals.

The SEC Indoor is regarded as the second toughest individual tournament next to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. The SEC boasts four teams in the preseason top 10 national rankings and eight in the top 25.

The back-to-back SEC Champion Rebels will open their dual match season Friday, Jan. 27 against Louisville. The match will be played at 2 p.m. at the Gillom Sports Center.
